Calendar

Your visual day grid — see who's booked when across every staff member, read the day at a glance, and start a booking straight from an open slot.

Open Calendar in the sidebar. Where Bookings is the searchable ledger of everything, the calendar is your time-grid for when — one day laid out as staff columns against the clock, so you can see who's busy, who's free, and where the gaps are without reading a single row. Day view. Click an empty slot to start a booking — staff and time pre-fill.

Read the day at a glance

Four tiles sit across the top, all computed live from the day you're looking at:

  • Bookings — how many appointments are on the books. Cancelled and no-show bookings are left out, so this is the real headcount you're serving.
  • Revenue — the money already settled: the total of every booking that's fully paid. Unpaid and part-paid bookings don't count here yet, so a busy day can read low until you take payment. A quiet day shows a clean zero, not a dash.
  • Utilization — how much of the day's chair-time is spoken for, across every bookable staff member on the grid. 100% means the day is full; a low number on an open day is free capacity you could still sell.
  • Next free slot — the earliest open time a walk-in could take. On today it skips any slot that's already passed, so it's always a time you can actually offer. A dash means the day is fully booked or closed.

The grid: staff columns against the clock

Every staff member who's active and accepts online bookings gets their own column, headed by their photo (or their initials) and job title. Time runs top-to-bottom down the left edge, clipped to the branch's real working hours and its booking interval — so you're never scrolling through hours the salon is shut.

Each appointment is a coloured block in the staff member's column, sized to its length. A booking shared by two people — say a colour with one stylist and a blow-dry with another — shows under each of their columns for just their part of it, so nobody looks double-booked. On today, a thin line marks the current time so you can see what's happening right now.

If a booking belongs to someone who's since been deactivated or moved off this branch, it doesn't vanish — it collects in a muted Hidden staff column at the far right so you never lose sight of a real customer.

Move around the days

Today jumps back to the current day; the arrows either side step one day back or forward; and the date box opens your device's native picker to leap anywhere. Each day is driven by the branch's opening hours — land on a day it's shut and you'll see Closed today. with a nudge toward Settings → Branches to change the hours.

Start a booking from an open slot

This is the calendar's fastest trick: click any empty cell and the new-booking form opens with that staff member and time already filled in — you just add the customer and service. On a brand-new day you'll see No bookings yet in the middle of the grid: Click any slot below to add the day's first booking. Prefer a blank slate? The New booking button in the header opens the same form with only the date set.

It is the same sheet the ledger opens, so everything it carries applies here too: the Send confirmation to customer switch, filing a walk-in that already happened, and what a clash offers you. See Create a booking.

The slot remembers the details for you

Clicking a cell pre-fills both the staff member and the start time from exactly where you clicked — so booking Sara in at 2:30 is one click plus the customer's name, not a form full of dropdowns. It's the quickest way to add a walk-in while they're standing at the desk.

Already-booked blocks are just as clickable: tap one to open its full detail right here on the calendar, where you can take payment, edit, reschedule, or refund it — the same booking sheet you'd reach from the ledger, no page change.

Know your colours

Each block is coloured by its status, so the shape of the day reads at a glance:

  • Pending is amber — waiting on you to confirm.
  • Confirmed is blue — locked in and upcoming.
  • In progress is violet — happening right now.
  • Completed is green — done and dusted.
  • Cancelled and No-show are struck through in grey and rose — off the day, but kept on the grid for your record.

Slots you can't book into are dimmed rather than hidden: branch closures, a staff member's time off, hours outside their schedule, and times already past all read as muted cells. Dimmed doesn't always mean blocked, though — where an override is allowed the picker marks the slot and lets you take it after a confirm, so the grid shows you the whole day rather than only its easy half. Not sure what a colour means? The small help button beside the page title pops open a full legend for both the block colours and the dimmed slots.

Filter to one branch, or jump to the list

Running more than one branch? An All branches picker lets you narrow the grid to a single location — its staff, its opening hours, its booking interval — or view everything together. And View as list hands the same day straight to Bookings with the date and branch already applied, for when you'd rather search, filter, and act on a list than scan a grid.
